Exciting opportunity for Kenyan Technology graduate innovators at UAE
Are you a University Student or recent graduate? Are you above 18 years? Is your area of study Communications Technology, Engineering Technology, Computer & Information Science subjects in one of the universities in the Kenya? Then you are eligible to enter the GITEX Student Lab competition. Apply by Monday, 24th June to get the chance to cash on your innovative idea at the Dubai World Trade Center on 20th-24th October 2013.
GITEX-Gulf Information Technology Exhibition is an annual consumer
computer and electronics trade show, exhibition and conference which
takes place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates each year. The Student Lab,
is an initiative of GITEX Technology Week designed to encourage students
to create their best ICT related projects and promote entrepreneurship
within the ICT industry.
You can participate if your idea covers one of the
below categories:
-Cloud computing -Social networks and
media -gaming
-Digital distribution -Disruptive
technology -Software
-Mobility
-Security -Gadgets
Projects will be judged
by their creative, innovation and design, real usability, quality of
presentation and technical details of the solution.
40 submissions will be shortlisted and notified in June
2013. Once you have been shortlisted you will be advised of the
submission guidelines.
Shortlisted candidates
will be given a free booth at the 1-week event, to showcase their
technologies to visitors. GITEX will cover flights and accommodation for
those shortlisted.
The 10 shortlisted projects will be
announced by 19th of September 2013. 3 winners will be selected out of
10 shortlisted projects on the 24th of October 2013 at GITEX TECHNOLLOGY
WEEK.
Each student is required to give a 5 minutes
presentation on their projects during the ceremony of selecting the top 3
out of 10 shortlisted projects.
GITEX is a top-ranking ICT exhibition and brings
together 144 countries, 139,000 ICT professionals, more than 10,000
visitors with budget authority of over USD 5 million and commands 80
percent participation from World top brands.
