About The Organization

We are a global non-governmental organization that exists to demonstrate the love of God by helping communities acquire desperately needed clean water, and to experience "living water"—the gospel of Jesus Christ—which alone satisfies the deepest thirst. Living Water in Africa is providing safe drinking water, Christian Witness sanitation and health education to communities across Africa.

Our Africa Region Office, based in Nairobi, has a vacancy for 1 intern who is committed, positive and resourceful. Initially the internship will be for 9 months however this may be extended. Finance Intern

Key Responsibilities

The Finance Intern will assist the Finance Officer in providing competent accounting services to the Africa Region Office by;
  • Managing monthly payments for the office:
  • Receiving, analyzing and ensuring prompt payment for accounts payable invoices for the Africa Region office;
  • Handling petty cash and check preparation;
  • Identifying and resolving queries timeously;
  • Contributing to the development of financial procedures for the Office by ensuring reporting compliance with head office of Living Water International;
  • Ensuring completeness of supporting documentation;
  • Correctly coding and inputting transactions into QuickBooks; – Maintaining accurate and up to date accounting files and records;
  • Reconciling the bank reconciliation accounts;
  • Preparing cash flow projection statements on a monthly basis;
  • Providing a monthly financial report to the Regional Vice President.

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:-
  • University graduate in Business related background, accounting with CPA 2 and above preferable
  • Conversant with Quick books and accounting packages
  • Must have a working Knowledge of Microsoft Office specifically Excel.
  • Strong work ethics, analytical ability and attention to detail
  • Good communicator, creative, quick and willing to learn
